Principles of Family

God redeemed us for a purpose... HIS purpose.
To create a family of those in relationship and oneness in purpose.  When you became a believer... you were adopted as a child of God. A Joint-Heir with Christ, the First Born of many! Welcome to the FAMILY of God!

As members of God’s family at large…We will....

Serve each other as royalty with dignity, warmth, compassion and brotherly love; attentively listening and respecting differences in others. Jesus is our role model. Rev 19:16  And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Mark 10:42 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be servant of all.

Be patient, quickly forgiving one another preferring others above ourselves. Mat 18:21-22 Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Respect the authority of the leaders and follow in unity.  We trust and recognize that God will give the leader the “bigger picture” and may have to make decisions that we may not always understand, but the leader has the final say yet will strive to create an environment that encourages a free flow of ideas. Rom 13:1  Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

Operate with integrity, to the highest good of all members in the group, being willing to risk rejection to say the hard things -- in love, being sure to speak blessings. Eph 4:29  Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

If a conflict or offense arises, we will prayerfully proceed according to the principles of the bible.  If a sin occurs…. we will prayerfully proceed according to the principles of Matthew 18. Mat 18:15  "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.
Mat 18:16  "But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that 'by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.'
Mat 18:17  "And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

Not escalate or publicize a problem by indiscriminately discussing the issue with others. Seeking reconciliation and restoration as quickly as possible.
John 17:21  "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
Eph 4:26  "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
Eph 4:27  nor give place to the devil.

Christian Conduct in Ministry and in Conflict

Before a Christian engages in any activity, we should ask ourselves the following questions.

1) Is God glorified?  1 Cor 10:31  Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

2) Christians must not only do what is permissible but what is profitable to Gods Kingdom. (The question is not is it a sin, but is it best.)  1 Cor 6:12
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

3) Although I have the right - what is the impact on my witness -- will it help or hinder   Heb 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

4) If  you can’t help doing it,  you should stop immediately Gal 5:16
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

5) Will this act help or hinder your weaker brother?  Rom 14:21 The right thing is to eat no meat or drink no wine [at all], or [do anything else] if it makes your brother stumble or hurts his conscience or offends or weakens him

FOCUS:  Forgiveness, Restoration and Renewal of Relationships. Many breeches in the Body of Christ can be healed and from a biblical perspective we are to always practice forgiveness with the goal being RESTORATION of the relationship and of the people involved. The following lessons will help you grow in your walk of restoration. God expects us to forgive and restore each other JUST as He forgave and restored us. God is looking at how we treat one another.  He says They will KNOW you are my disciples by your love one for another. Don't be afraid to forgive and to ask forgiveness. All have sinned and have fallen short of the Glory of God. When you restore someone, you become a co-laborer with Christ.  You also become a living example of a beattitude or a "BE ATTITUDE" like in the sermon of Jesus where He said Blessed are the PEACEMAKERS, for they be called the children of God, meaning those LIKE and in the image of and raised and instructed by their Father, The Almighty God!
